Jing is a free basic screencapture and screencast application that sits descreetly on your desktop for when you need to access it. you simply click and drag a cursor over the area of the screen you want to capture and start recording. Your screencast can be shared online (you get free web storage space with your software) or you can save the file to your pc.

This is a really easy application to use and at that price you can’t complain! There is also a pro version with more features. If you’re looking for a less expensive version of Camtasia, this might be the solution.

This Was A Commercial Break

This Was A Commercial Break

Okay, I’ve been away for a while working my “ctlr C” and “ctlr V” digits to the bone for a living. In that time I’ve learned sooo much about improving website performance it’s mind boggling! Now that I finally have time to think about this blog again I’m going to tell you everything I’ve discovered.

If you’ve read any of my post (thanks Mom!) you’ll know I’m not into “lightweight” or “trendy” blogging. You know the kind of posts I’m talking about; “Will I have cornflakes for breakfast today?”, or “Today I had a deep thought…” etc. FYI I have cornflakes everyday and I only have deep thoughts so this kind of blogging is of no interest to me.

With that in mind, you can expect more deeply interesting web tips and tricks real soon.

Lorem Ipsum For Web Design Mock-ups

Lorem Ipsum

We web designers often have to mock-up designs without the benefit of having text for the page. Rather than using your shopping list or extracts from your private emails as text placeholders, why not copy and paste some ‘Lorem Ipsum’ text into you web page design instead?

Lorem Ipsum is classical Latin literature from 45 BC (over 2000 years old) and has been used by the print industry since 1960’s. It will not distract from your design as your private emails would and gives a more finished appearance to your mock-ups.

Good for your web design mock-ups, good for your clients.

Visit www.lipsum.com for the full history and a whole bunch of Lorem Ipsum to choose from.

Making MySpace Mine

Now that I’m getting the hang of myspace I thought I better figure out how to style the damn thing. I found Dave’s ReallyCreativeName.com to have some good basic themes to get started with and best of all he tells you where to paste the to code (that’s all I need!).

I will be customizing but thanks for the start Dave!
